Field Day 2019
It was bright sunny skies for Hawthorne's annual Field Day event on June 7th. The physical education teachers coordinated a day of fun-filled, competitive activities for all the students. Each class was assigned a different color and then competed against other classes for bragging rights. Challenges included passing a ball overhead down the line to classmates, balancing a small ball on a spoon while running, and passing a hula hoop through each classmate without letting go of hands. A DJ pumped out music to the enthusiastic crowd as parents watched on in delight. Watermelon and ice-pops were a welcome treat to beat the heat after a day full of physical activity of all kind.
