School hours are 8:00 a.m. to 2:55 p.m. If your child arrives at school later than 8:15 a.m., he/she should report to the Project S.A.V.E. desk at Memorial Drive entrance for late sign-in.


Bus tags are mailed to parents shortly before the first day of school and be tied onto their backpack the first few weeks of school. All students are picked up at the assigned cross streets near their homes.

Students will only be allowed off the bus if a parent/guardian or designee is waiting for them at the specific bus stop. If a parent/guardian or designee is not at their specific stop, the student will be brought back to Hawthorne Elementary School and a parent/guardian will be notified.


Two weeks notice must be given to change any permanent bus notes.

Students must have written permission to attend any after-school activity. If your child does not have a note, he/she will be put on his/her regular school bus to go home at the end of the school day.

A note is also required if a student will be riding home on a different bus or getting off at a different stop from his/her assigned bus stop. You can fax this note to us at 769-8527 by 11:00 a.m. provided you follow up with a confirming phone call.
