Students Explore Pumpkins Through Science, Math, and Teamwork

Students in Jill-Marie Pirotta’s class explored pumpkins from the inside out through a hands-on learning day. They designed a face for their class pumpkin, voted on shapes to use, and worked together to clean it out. Using their senses, students described the pumpkin’s parts, separated seeds from pulp, and then began counting seeds as part of a math activity. The day also included pumpkin-themed lessons in math and ELA, blending creativity, collaboration, and curiosity.
