Elementary PTA Arranges Fall Storytelling Assembly at Hawthorne
Just in time for Halloween, master storyteller Jonathan Kruk visited Hawthorne students and shared his favorite local spooky stories including The Witches Surprise. Described as “the witch who puts the happy in Happy Halloween,” Mr. Kruk got into the character of the witch together with and the students made a witches brew! They added ingredients from a spooky recipe and then she clapped her hands, tapped her nose and disappeared leaving everyone feeling happy.
In his original tale, “Rolly-head,” he shared the story of a nasty fellow who lives in town of Hawthorne and hates Halloween. Details of how he turns off lights, locks doors, gives no candy, and spooks children instead delighted all the students in kindergarten through 2nd grade.
Huge thank you to the the Elementary PTA's Cultural Arts Committee for arranging and funding this wonderful Fall Tales Assembly.
